Fernwood United Methodist Church held the first Black Church Celebration for Nelson Mandela, and Augustine Neto, Marcus Garvey as our African Disciples of Liberation in Chicago.
Held the first Zana-Zapo conference at Fernwood United Methodist Church, when these African liberationalists were fighting against Rhodesia under the regime of Ian Smith. This country is now called Zimbabwe.
